My Testimony Bro. Donnie Schuman
Most folks would have called me a “good ole boy.” I got along with others pretty well. I was polite to my elders. For the most part, I stayed out of trouble.
My parents and I attended church regularly and I was taught about Jesus as far back as I can remember. Even though I knew about God and Jesus and what sin was at an early age, there came a time in my life when I realized something was still missing. I believed there was a God, but I didn’t have peace with Him. I realized being good was not enough.
Then one night of a revival service at Northside Baptist Church, at the age of 10, I believed the plan of salvation by grace through faith and I knew the Lord wanted me to make it public. It was hard for me to step out in front of all those people, but I knew I had to do it for the Lord. I decided then and there that I wanted to live for Jesus. I found what was missing, and my life was changed. I found more than I could have imagined.
Today, my life is far different from what I imagined, but it has meaning. I have peace, joy, and love for others. In fact, I have to tell others the good news that everyone needs more than just to be good, and anyone can have what I have. I know if I died right now I would go to heaven.
