JOY IN THE JOURNEY

Welcome to Joy in the Journey, a media broadcast where we find joy as we journey through the Word of God, and we find joy as we learn to apply the truths of God's word to our journey through life. This ministry teaches the truths of God's Word, book by book, chapter by chapter. Our host is Donnie Schuman, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, Union County, Mississippi.

Currently Joy in the Journey is undergoing construction to allow audio downloads and/or streaming.  Also, a print format is being prepared.  Sign up to our e-mail listing to keep in touch or check back at this website from time to time.

My Testimony      Bro. Donnie Schuman

Most folks would have called me a “good ole boy.”  I got along with others pretty well.  I was polite to my elders.  For the most part, I stayed out of trouble.

My parents and I attended church regularly and I was taught about Jesus as far back as I can remember.  Even though I knew about God and Jesus and what sin was at an early age, there came a time in my life when I realized something was still missing.  I believed there was a God, but I didn’t have peace with Him.  I realized being good was not enough.

Then one night of a revival service at Northside Baptist Church, at the age of 10, I believed the plan of salvation by grace through faith and I knew the Lord wanted me to make it public.  It was hard for me to step out in front of all those people, but I knew I had to do it for the Lord.  I decided then and there that I wanted to live for Jesus.  I found what was missing, and my life was changed.  I found more than I could have imagined.

Today, my life is far different from what I imagined, but it has meaning.  I have peace, joy, and love for others.  In fact, I have to tell others the good news that everyone needs more than just to be good, and anyone can have what I have.  I know if I died right now I would go to heaven.
